The World Is a Vampire is an obvious choice for the name of a new music event centered around The Smashing Pumpkins. Talk about a fantastic name. This intriguing newcomer to Australia’s festival circuit will be touring the nation with one heck of a bill this fall, happy to gleefully drain all of your attention. Naturally, Billy Corgan and his band members, as well as other alt-rock icons like Jane’s Addiction, will be present.<\/span><\/p>\n

Smashing Pumpkins and Jane’s Addiction are reuniting on tour after collaborating on the significant Spirits on Fire tour in the United States in 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n

Amyl and the Sniffers, winners of an ARIA Award for best punk band, Sydney rockers RedHook, Battlesnake, a seven-piece guitar band, and other local bands are also on the lineup.<\/span><\/p>\n

With wrestling matches between Corgan’s NWA (National Wrestling Alliance) and WAOA (Wrestling Alliance of Australia) as part of the daily events, the alternative music festival offers a change from usual programming.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Australian excursion is being produced by One World Entertainment. On Friday at noon local time, general admission tickets go on sale (Feb. 3).<\/span><\/p>\n

The lead act will be Billy Corgan and company, followed by their previous US tourmates, Jane’s Addiction. Amyl and the Sniffers, RedHook, and Battlesnake are among the other performers on the bill; additional performers are expected to be revealed in the upcoming weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n

Each stop on the tour will also feature showcases from the Corgan-owned National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), a professional wrestling organization whose wrestlers will compete against those from the Wrestling Alliance of Australia (WAOA).<\/span><\/p>\n
