With a batch of Christmas movies coming up at the end of the year, we&#8217;re delving deeper into the locations of this iconic movie. <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Noel&#8217;s Diary<\/strong> <\/em>he is <strong>romantic comedy<\/strong> which is based on a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/en\/book\/show\/35011400-the-noel-diary\">The bestselling book by Richard Paul Evans<\/a><\/strong>.  The film follows the story of an eponymous author <strong>Jacob Turner,<\/strong> who receives a phone call to tell him that his estranged mother, whom he has not seen in twenty years, has died.<\/p>\n<p>Jacob has inherited his mother&#8217;s house, and during the holiday season, he returns home to settle scores, both mentally and physically.  However, the house itself is in a bit of a mess as his mom seems to be a bit of a hoarder, so there&#8217;s a lot of baggage for Jacob to work through when he arrives.  When he finds an old diary and receives a visitor, Rachel, who also looks to the past to find answers, they decide to become allies in understanding their lives.  Of course, their meeting may turn out to be more than just allies and friends.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Is The Noel Diary on Netflix?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>yes, <em>Noel&#8217;s Diary<\/em> Available to watch now with a Netflix subscription.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Where was The Noel Diary filmed?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>The <em>Noel&#8217;s Diary<\/em> The movie takes place in Connecticut, fortunately, the filmmakers were able to shoot on location, making sure the movie had an authentic feel.<\/strong> Some liberties may have been taken, though, as is so often the case with these things, so the house in which the main story unfolds, in which it is said to be located <strong>Bridgeport<\/strong>In fact <strong>Washington Street Westport. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Bridgeport location can be seen though, at a book signing with Jacob that happens to be at <strong>mechanics<\/strong> And the<strong> Farmers Savings Bank<\/strong> It doubles for a scene in which it appears to be happening <strong>Chicago<\/strong>.  Other sites include <strong>Remo&#8217;s Italian Restaurant in Stamford<\/strong>.  This was used as a meeting place for the main characters <strong>Jacob and Rachel, The Griswald Inn in Essex<\/strong> It was acquired to replace <strong>Maple Falls Inn<\/strong>And the <strong>RJ Julia Booksellers in Madison Township<\/strong> It was used for the scene where Rachel goes to buy a copy of one of Jacob&#8217;s best-selling books. <strong>Canaan City Council<\/strong> It appears to have been used to film the downtown area of \u200b\u200bMaple Falls, and it should be noted that the city of Maple Falls is a fictional work of the film.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Why is The Noel Diary in these locations?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Obviously, from a filmmaking standpoint, it&#8217;s often best to use the place where the movie is set.  However, cost is often a factor in these situations, and it can be expensive for producers to film where a scene is set.<\/p>\n<p>There are various ways to get around this, and there are some popular sites that are very cost effective and can double up for the real thing. <em>Noel&#8217;s Diary<\/em> Originally slated to shoot in Vancouver, location fans will know this is an area to go to due to the longer daylight hours, longer &#8220;golden hours&#8221;, milder winters allowing for longer but possibly more filming times and most importantly, it is cheaper to shoot there There are tax breaks that greatly reduce the costs of location shooting there.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>However, due to the epidemic, <em>Noel&#8217;s Diary<\/em> They had to abandon their initial plan to shoot there, and the only other option was to shoot on a real location.
