Welcome to Chippendales review – Nanjiani and Bartlett shine in one of the year’s best shows
Post Welcome to our Chippendales review Nanjiani and Bartlett star in one of the best performances of the year for the first time on Ready Steady Cut.
We’re reviewing the Hulu series Welcome to the Chippendales season 1, which contains no spoilers.
We have a new series based on the book The Killer Dance: The Chippendales Murders flocking on Hulu in Welcome to Chippendales. The story follows the life of the founder of the Chippendales, Suman BanerjeeWorld Health Organization Kumail Nanjiani Play. Is the series worth checking out? I am sharing my review of the series below.
For the longest time, I thought this was a random idea that turned into a worldwide phenomenon. However, this was built from a ground level idea that turned into a multi-million dollar project. As each episode progresses and we peel back the layers of this empire built, you can’t help it by admiring what Somen has really done here. How he did it, what he went through, and what he fought for, it all comes to a head in this series that teaches you a history lesson and makes you appreciate his hard work.
A series doesn’t work if they don’t have the right people in place, and that starts at the top. I can’t think of a single person who would have played Somen better than Kumail Nanjiani. I walked away from this series with a whole new appreciation for Nanjiani and his acting ability. First of all, Soomen was very close to the edges with a bit of an understatement because of where he came from. However, as he began to find his groove in the business world, I began to see him blossom as a person. Sometimes you’re rooting for Somen, other times you’re rooting against him, but in the end, it’s all about the character’s buyability, and with Nanjiani’s layered work in the role, it was easy to invest my time.
The supporting parts of the series also can’t be overlooked, starting with Murray Bartlett. Nick isn’t a good guy, nor is Somen, so it was kind of a match made in heaven with these two. Bartlett was equal parts sleazy, sexy, and gorgeous as Nick. I can’t tell you how many times Bartlett and Nanjiani on the show have locked me out of their fights with each other, they were very good actors, and I ate it. Annaleigh Ashford, Juliette Lewis, and Robin DeJesus They all played their part in making this show great.
Now that you’ve got your passion for acting, let’s dive into the rest of the series. From the opening credits to the costume designs to the production design, they illuminate the authenticity and sensibilities of this era. Sometimes, I would replay certain aspects of the show because I was in awe of the work that was done. My standout from it all had to be Jamie Lindsay’s work with the series’ color palette. Lindsey better be in the conversation next season’s Emmy for Best Cinematography in a Limited Series, or I’m going to riot.
Inclusive, Welcome to Chippendales is one of the best scripted shows of 2022. I’m not sure I have one bad thing to say about the series. It’s a pure eight episodes that never feel beyond welcome. I promise you’ll add this to your weekly watchlist, because it’s that good. Everyone except this project deserves a pat on the back because the show is great.
