Episode 14 of Under the Queen’s Umbrella begins with us in the past, as Kwon bows before his mother. Kwon is actually Ik-Hyeon, and Yoon tells him to stay alive at any cost. Back in the present, Hwang is forced to reveal the truth she has been hiding about who Uiseong’s father actually is. She also drinks the tea, proves that it is not poisoned and goes on to reveal that Uiseong is in fact the Queen’s firstborn child.

This gives the Dowager a good amount of ammo to work with. But she is determined to keep Uiseong alive, knowing that Queen Yeon has suffered the loss of a child before and intends to use this to her advantage. However, this also makes her more determined than ever to find out who his father is.

Meanwhile, Hwa-ryung manages to persuade the king to re-examine Tain’s death again, and she is more certain than ever that this was murder. He points out that this is dangerous and wonders why it raises suspicions. Despite being on the throne for 20 years, it’s a precarious situation, and the slightest sign of weakness will see his enemies pounce on him. As a result, the king flatly rejected her proposal.

As the widow is well aware that Uiseong’s offspring are being questioned, this puts them all in danger. The Chief State Counselor is distraught when he finds himself face to face with Sang-Uk soon after. Some snappy responses are thrown on the table before Uiseong gets things back on track. Also on their side is Doctor Kwon, who we know plays both sides but shows his true colors here as part of this usurped band.

Quinn and Seung-nam discuss the matter and suspect that the tax minister knows something about it. Court Lady Park asks Do Wager if she will kill Ui Seong. She says that she left one son to the deposed Queen Yun so that she could live in fear of losing him. He wanted to do the same for Consort Huang. King also asks Tax Secretary Park to sign up. Quinn says Kwon couldn’t find the record and asks him to find the poison that could have killed the late crown prince to get the bullets. He almost shares it with Yoon and they decide to have the Chief State Counselor on their side.

Ui Seong asks the state councilor for his opinion, and he refuses to oppose the king. He is shocked when Ui Seong says his mother allowed him to revolt. He confronts Hwang himself who reveals that Ui Seong is not the King’s son and Do Wager is aware of this. Queen asks Minister Park for his father’s draft record of the late Crown Prince Tae-in’s autopsy. Park tries to hide but she says his father was going to die to protect the draft because he died right after the autopsy. Premier Yoon meets with Ui Seong. He gets shocked to see him alive when Kwon comes there. He recalls Consort Hwang’s words and determines that Kwon is Ui-sung’s biological father. He reveals that the king witnessed Du Wager’s murder of Crown Prince Tae-in.

Quinn and Seung-nam also speculated that Ik Hyeon and Yoon are related to Kwon. She also expects that it is not Consort Hwang but Kwon who is using Hwang. Yoon asks the Chief State Councilor for Tae-in’s autopsy report and the Premier reveals that the royal physician Chu had it, which is why Du Wager left him alive until now. Minister Park tells the Queen that he has the record but also warns her that she will not be able to handle the truth about the person involved in the murder. Quinn is ready to confront her and also promises not to reveal the truth to anyone.

Quinn reads the draft and is shocked to learn that it was the late king who himself hid himself from the poisoning and immediately made the current king crown prince. King Burns Park was another project. Queen De Wager meets with the Crown Prince and asks her to be silent after consummating her marriage. Chang’e says that the crown prince has been busy but she reprimands her that giving an heir is the most important duty. She says about the spread of rumors that the king is sterile.

Episode 14 “Under the Queen’s Umbrella” begins with a flashback of Queen Yun trying to survive with her son.

In the drama, Mr. Toujie, who used to be the royal physician during Queen Yun’s reign, hid the Grand Prince and let his son live with Queen Yun as a decoy.

It turns out that he was the one who taught the Great Prince medicine and lived with his new identity.

For the time being, Queen Dowager Chu was suspicious of Consort Hwang’s son, Prince Uesong. She suspects that the king is not the prince’s father but the concubine insists he is the firstborn.

Interestingly, Queen Dowager finds out that Prince Uiseong’s father is not King Lee Ho but the royal physician Kwon.

One of the highlights of episode 14, “Under the Queen’s Umbrella,” revolves around the true identity of Doctor Kwon.

After a doctor presented three possible poisons used on the late crown prince, a court lady reported that the victim appeared to have the same signs similar to the death of the king.

Queen Im Hwa-ryeong discovered that Gansu was the poison her son used and it does not interact with metal; Hence why it is not easily detected.

Once she confirmed this remark, she headed to the residence of the deposed Queen Yun. However, I noticed something strange.

Her son could walk upright and remembered Dr. Kwon’s walking style.

She is shocked to learn that the last Grand Prince is none other than Kwon O Gyeong.

Here she confronted the former queen and asked if she knew her son was poisoning the crown prince.
