This is a hilarious black comedy starring Billy Bob Thornton Like Willy, Mall Santa, and his elf sidekick who gather every winter to rob malls. The film shows Willie having a breakdown and an alcoholic, and his unpredictable behavior puts him in danger of being discovered by mall security. However, after befriending a young boy, he begins to believe there is more hope for him, as he shows his gentler side.

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

While many people classify this more as a Halloween movie, can also fall into the Christmas category. The story follows Jack Skellington of Halloweentown, who, tired of his annual rituals, stumbles upon Christmastown and plans to take it over by kidnapping Santa Claus. This certainly isn’t a traditional festive flick, but it has enough Christmas references to make it a go-to watch all winter long.

Office Christmas Party (2016)

Office Christmas Party is a great standalone comedy that you’d be forgiven for watching anytime of the year. With a great cast, the movie shows the chaos of an office Christmas party that spirals out of control when he plays the CEO of the company, Jennifer Aniston, trying to close the branch. This supercharged festive movie has a host of unexpected juggles, like car chases, Christmas tree duels, and falling vending machines.

The Night Before (2015)

Black Christmas is a Canadian slasher game that’s sure to be an interesting watch this Christmas season, for those who aren’t into the classic Christmas movie formula. A group of sorority girls are enjoying their Christmas break when they are stalked by a stranger who aims to kill each one of them.

Tangerine (2015)

This comedy-drama is definitely an odd pick to watch this Christmas. It follows a transgender sex worker named Sin-Dee Rella who, after finishing a 28-day prison sentence, spends Christmas Eve searching for the ex-boyfriend Pimp who broke her heart. The movie was shot entirely using three iPhone 5s smartphones, which gives the movie a very unique feel.
