Thunivu (transl. Fortitude) is an upcoming Indian Tamil language action thriller film written and directed by H. Vinoth, and produced by Boney Kapoor. It stars Ajith Kumar and Manju Warrier.
Principal photography began in April 2022 and ended in October 2022, in Hyderabad and Bangkok. The film is scheduled to be released theatrically on January 11, 2023, during Pongal’s runtime.

In February 2022, the 61st film starring Ajith Kumar as an actor with the working title AK61, was announced to be produced by Boney Kapoor under Bayview Projects LLP and directed by H. Vinoth. This will be the third collaboration between the trio after Nerkonda Paarvai (2019) and Valimai (2022).
Vinoth said he narrated one scene for Ajith, which he had written for a low budget film. After showing interest in joining, Vinoth agreed, thus increasing the scale of the project. Principal photography began on 11 April in Hyderabad, and Manju Warrior was signed on as the lead actress a month later. A set of Road Mountain was erected in Hyderabad. The team successfully completed the first schedule in Hyderabad by 10 June 2022. The Thunivu title was announced on 21 September. The final shooting schedule was set in Bangkok.[20][21] Principal photography wrapped on 12 October. Filming for “Patchwork” and its sequels began later in the month. Dubbing of the film was completed by November 2022.

: The film’s music is written by Ghibran. The first single, “Chilla Chilla”, written by Vaisagh and sung by Anirudh, is scheduled for release on 9 December 2022.

Thunivu It is scheduled to be released in theaters on January 11, 2023, during Pongal. [27] The Tamil Nadu film’s distribution rights have been acquired by Red Giant Movies, [28] and the overseas distribution rights are held by Lyca Productions.

The post-theatrical broadcast rights of the film were sold to Netflix and the satellite rights to Kalaignar TV.
