Star Wars: Visions has just released a new third season of the anthology series, bringing nine additional episodes to your Disney Plus subscriptions.

Of the nine new short films, three of them are sequels to episodes from previous seasons. “The Duel: Payback” is a sequel to “The Duel,” while “The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope” is a sequel to “The Ninth Jedi.” Finally, “The Lost Ones” is a sequel to “The Village Bride”.

Unlike most live-action Star Wars television shows that air their episodes week after week, the nine shorts Star Wars: Visions Season 3 premieres today on Disney Plus. So you won’t need to wait nine weeks to see the whole season unfold.

Star Wars: Visions Season 3 was announced in November 2024 and it goes back to the roots of Season 1 by focusing on the anime medium with returning and new Japanese studios.

As is the case with previous seasons, all shorts in the volume are considered non-canon.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that they don’t fit into existing Star Wars continuity, but by making the shorts non-canonical, it means that each studio has the freedom to develop their shorts without being beholden to a bible or overarching rules for the series.

Star Wars: Visions – Volume 3 is now streaming on Disney Plus. A fourth season has not yet been confirmed, although it is expected to go live in the near future if Disney is satisfied with the series’ return on investment.
