Sodium Hyaluronate is one of the first active ingredients in this serum, and we consider it to be one of the most effective skin care ingredients around. A clinical review published in the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules called sodium hyaluronate a “vital medicine for skin rejuvenation” due to its effectiveness in improving skin hydration, reducing wrinkles, and stimulating collagen production.
Ferulic acid is another effective ingredient. We haven’t noted this ingredient in any previous review of skin care products from Illuminate Health, but it appears to be a powerful antioxidant that protects various skin structures such as collagen and elastin according to a medical review from 2018.
Vaccinium myrtillus (bilberry) fruit extract was found to improve skin barrier function in a clinical trial published in the Journal of Antioxidants. This means that it can help protect the skin from external damage from sources such as bacteria and environmental toxins.

The brand does not make false and misleading claims regarding “clinical results,” which indicates that the product was studied in a legitimate medical trial published in a scientific journal such as the one mentioned in this article.
Many skincare brands “oversell” and claim clinical efficacy without evidence, so we appreciate the ethical nature of Naked & Thriving’s claims. Several of the skin care brands we reviewed on the Illuminate Health website claimed to be “clinically proven” based on similar user-reported data, which is misleading to consumers.
