National Death Penalty Vote (Korean: 국민사형투표); is a South Korean television series, starring Park Hae-jin, Park Sung-Woong, and Lim Ji-Eun. It aired on SBS on August 10, 2023, and is broadcast in an episode format every Thursday.
the story
When heinous criminals evade punishment from the law, all citizens over the age of 18 receive a text message polling them on whether that person should receive the death penalty. If the national vote is more than 50% in favor of the death penalty, that person is killed by Doug Mask (Doge Mask’s identity is unknown). Meanwhile, Doug Mask is being chased by the police.
An anonymous masked person via the Internet pursues hardened criminals who evade punishment. He breaks the law to enact his own constitution. Then he destroys the courts to extend their sacred sanctuary to all parts of the country. He robs the blindfolded woman of her balance to place the scales of justice in the grip of every citizen. With the push of a single button, the citizens rule with their votes, either rejecting or supporting his execution. …Which requires an investigator, a prisoner, and a cyber investigator to unite to ferociously chase the masked person. Which side will prevail in victory?

Production
On March 31, 2023, production company Pan Entertainment announced that it had signed a production and supply contract with SBS Studio Drama Department for the series “National Death Penalty Vote” worth 15.36 billion won. The series is written by Jo Eun-young, who wrote Cinderella Man (2009) and Moon Lovers (2016).
Originally, the series was a Monday-Tuesday drama, but due to SBS canceling the series airing period during this period, it was decided to organize the series with two episodes every Thursday. On August 10, 2023, SBS announced that the series would be broadcast one episode per week.
