“Today is all about me,” says the most monotonous and humble person I have ever encountered. It is always the scariest and most terrifying noble who thinks they are the main characters.

After she got on the microphone, Kadia told the teacher that she wouldn’t let her have her moment and went on to tell the audience her full name. The student proudly announced that she had graduated. Then Kaida addressed the white official again and said:

“I don’t like the way you snatched the mic out of my hand, so it’s all about me today!”

Wearing a black graduation gown and a pink cap, the student dropped the microphone to the floor and took off. Kadia Iman’s video has been reposted on other platforms. On Twitter, Matt Walsh shared the clip and called the graduate the kindest and most unimpressive person.

A Twitter user, Howard Gao, responded to Matt’s tweet and called Kadia the product of an “awakened” university, despite not knowing which university she graduated from yet.

In a TikTok follow-up, Eman gave more context to the situation and suggested there may have been a racist element to the treatment she and other black students received at the hands of the white official.

Iman claimed that every student got a chance to say their name, major, and some other details as they got on stage. The TikTok influencer said she and other black students are not given the same privilege.

“I used to say my name and it’s literally, my name is long and I have three syllables in my name even though I won’t say my [full] name here, but I didn’t even finish saying my name,” Iman said in the second clip.

“The people who went before me and everything, they all had to say their name, their majors and even extras. Another girl and I noticed she was pulling out the mic really fast for some black,” she said.

Iman added that she felt she could not allow the alleged behavior to continue because she had worked so hard to obtain her testimony.

“I’m not a problem person, I don’t want to spoil one day, I don’t want to violate anyone, but that’s what I did. She wouldn’t even let me finish, she put the mic down and cut me off and that was the only chance I ever had to speak. I just feel like that This was not true.”

A representative from LaGuardia Community College told Newsweek that they will review the incident to get a better understanding of what happened.

“There was an incident where one of the alumni showed frustration during the student parade for not being able to hold the microphone while they were announcing his name,” Manny Romero, LaGuardia’s vice president of communications and external affairs, said of the incident.

“As a process of keeping the ceremony running in an orderly fashion, the students are given the opportunity to voice their names while a volunteer holds the microphone,” Romero added. “None of the students are allowed to hold a microphone to avoid any delay in the student procession and celebration. We keep in mind that this type of violent behavior displayed by this student affected the celebration for all the graduates and attendees, and we do not condone it.”

After the video of Kadia’s altercation went viral without much context, most people criticized her for the way she treated her teacher on her graduation day. While some people immediately issued strong racist remarks, others condemned her act regardless of her race.

Many people have argued that the college should revoke Kadia Iman’s degree. Some have also called it a brat, adding that universities across the United States are failing to educate the next generation.

Wouldn’t you like to be a fly on the wall the day this so called idiot loses his first job?

Once again, we see an example of the failure of American universities to educate the next generation.

“I’m a black woman… I’m always right.” This is what the liberal agenda does to people. The color of your skin in no way affects whether you are wrong or right. What an absolute moron! And yes, you must be very embarrassed by her benign behavior. #KadiaIman

Kadia Iman shared an explainer video on her TikTok

After the video went viral, the graduate took to TikTok to share the backstory of the incident. She said that all students are required to announce their full names on the microphone before going on stage. However, when it was Kadia’s turn to say her name into the microphone, before she could say her long name, the microphone was taken away from her.

She added that there were other students who preceded her and began to mention their names along with their majors and some additions. She added:

“The other girl and I noticed she was pulling the mic really fast for some blacks. I don’t want to be that person, but that was my tea.”

The now-viral graduate said she couldn’t let that happen because she felt like she worked really hard to graduate and went through a lot of struggles. Kadia knew she had to reclaim her moment. In addition, she apologized to the viewers and said that she is not a problematic person and does not want to ruin anyone’s day or infringe upon anyone. However, she claimed that the official ruined her day.

After Kadia Iman shared the context behind what led her to grab the microphone from the teacher and later throw it on the floor, some people backed her up. In fact, many members of the black community praised her for her self-defense. Kadia Iman Videos & Photos
