The New South Wales Education Standards Authority is investigating after some HSC students were mistakenly given early access to their results.
The glitch caused widespread confusion among students as some managed to see their provisional HSC marks on the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) website this morning – five days before they are due to be released.

Student registrations were closed within hours of going live after the error appeared.
Education Minister ms Mitchell said she had not yet been told how many students had been affected but believed it was “a small number”.
Preliminary results, which were released on Thursday morning, could be accessed by some students on Saturday morning.

A NESA spokesperson confirmed to 9News that a preliminary set of HSC results was available for students to view “for a short period of time”.

“NESA is now investigating the issue and sincerely apologizes for any problem caused,” the spokesperson said.
The final results will be released this Thursday.
