The future of Harry Potter continues to look bright with multiple upcoming projects, but it seems fans already have their new favorite character.
The Harry Potter book and film series may have ended over a decade ago, but its popularity is far from diminished thanks to multiple spin-offs, video game adaptations and now, the announcement of even more projects.
Not only will HBO’s brand new TV adaptation be bursting onto our screens sometime in 2027, but an audiobook series in collaboration with Audible is also on the agenda, with some stars even taking on the same role in both projects.
However, it appears that the Audible series, known as Harry Potter: the complete audio editions, already has a fan-favorite character and it’s not Harry Potter himself.
In a clip shared on Reddit’s r/HarryPotteronHBO, originally published in the Times, it’s actor Max Lester who appears to be the shining star as he takes on the role of Ron Weasley.
Scheduled to be voiced by Lester in audiobooks one, two and three, he will be replaced by Rhys Mulligan in audiobooks four through seven. Yet, it seems the former has already proven himself despite his young age.
Lester previously played a minor role in Fantastic Four: first steps so it looks like he’s destined for stardom and fans on Reddit agree.

“Max Lester (Ron Weasley) is my favorite in this scene. I can feel how annoyed he is with Hermione,” user RaemonTargaryen shared, racking up over 100 upvotes in agreement.
User Fossekall agreed, adding: “Ron’s voice actor stands out the most for me here, he does a really good job of conveying emotion.”
Lester will be going up against movie greats like Keira Knightley, Bill Nighy, Kit Harington, Ruth Wilson, Iwan Rheon and more, but it looks like the child actor is holding his own, giving fans hope. Harry Potter: the complete audio editions‘ full version.
“I was very impressed with Ron’s voice acting in all the short clips we saw,” another user shared.
“His facial expressions are also very good from what little behind-the-scenes footage has been released. He also seems excited about HP, I wonder if there is a future role on the show that might suit him. He was probably too old to replace Ron on the show.”
Lester may not also play Ron in the next one Harry Potter television adaptation but there is no doubt that the young actor has a bright future ahead of him.
