Halo Remake To Feature Unique PS5 Feature, Sorry Xbox

Kworld Trend | Halo Remake To Feature Unique PS5 Feature, Sorry Xbox ,

We didn’t see it coming, dammit

As someone old enough to remember playing the original Halo on launch day, the idea that it would ever come to the PlayStation was about as improbable as the guy who introduced The Apprentice (I forget his name) becoming President of the United States.

In 2025, however, the gaming landscape is very different and console exclusivity is quickly becoming a thing of the past, as industry giants race to see how much money they can make from each other’s intellectual property.

And so we arrive at Halo: Campaign Evolveda complete Unreal Engine 5 remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved, which defined the first generation of the Xbox console. Coming with more gameplay modifiers than you’ll know what to do with and the visual upgrade you’d expect from the new engine (even if I find it oddly soulless), this should be a great way to experience an updated version of the classic.

This game will also be released on PS5, marking the first time a Halo game has come to a Sony console, and it looks like there could be some nice added bonuses to the gameplay when it does.

DualSense has major advantages

In an interview with Quest Daily, Halo Studios executive producer Damon Conn shared some interesting information about the game, including its appearance on the other side of the Iron Curtain and the tangible benefits that could bring.

“We’re releasing on PlayStation for the first time. It’s a fantastic opportunity to introduce the story of Master Chief to a whole new group of fans and allow them to experience the same kind of experience and joy that gamers have had on Xbox for the last 25 years,” he said.

Conn then talked about a meeting the studio had with Sony execs around the DualSense controller and some of the technology within it, and how that informs their development of the upcoming remake.

“They came to us and gave us a lot of food for thought about what their controllers do, and we’re still working out those details.”

Whatever this means for the game itself, it’s nice that those who have only ever played on PlayStation can jump into one of the most legendary franchises in gaming history, even if it’s been through a rough patch in recent years.
