Destiny 2 Season of the Deep

season of deep leaks

Kworld Trend / Destiny 2 Season of the Deep, season of deep leaks , (aka Destiny 2 Season 21) is just around the corner, and players can expect some big changes when it rolls around. Destiny 2 has a big year ahead as we prepare for the final shape, but we have a lot to do along the way.

Season of the Deep is next, with hints of another ancient mystery that may have been under our noses all along. Here’s everything we know so far about Destiny 2 Season of the Deep, including when you can play it and what it will add to the game.

Destiny 2 deep season of deep leaks

Destiny 2 is halfway through Season Challenge, and Bungie will soon release a mid-season patch to change the sandbox in a significant way, as well as pave the way for Season of the Deep’s release at the end of May. While Bungie usually shares some details about upcoming releases ahead of time, Season of the Deep has been caught up in major controversy due to the massive leaks that have hit the internet over the past few weeks. That includes Destiny 2 leaks about Season 21’s Dungeon weapons, for example, as well as bringing back new weapons and loot, and it looks like the company has finally found the alleged culprit in popular content creator Ekuegan.

A Twitch Ambassador and Destiny 2 Guardian with years of experience leading fellow players to complete endgame content, Ekuegan, also known as G1 EK, is facing accusations from Bungie and community members alike. That’s because the latest season of deep leaks came as images of a PC desktop that appeared to have the same icons as the Ekuegan toolbar, which Bungie recognized from a recent summit where S21 details and creator streams were shared. However, Ekuegan denies doing so for a perfectly convincing reason — he would have no motive to publish the leaks anonymously and breach the NDA with Bungie.

However, Bungie’s argument is likely that if Ekuegan didn’t leak anything from the Destiny 2 Community Summit himself, he still failed to secure the information that was under a non-disclosure agreement, and as such is still the culprit. This reasoning makes sense in one sense, but it still fails to explore other options, such as outside leakers getting their hands on Ekuegan files or editing photos to point the finger at the creator. As it stands, there’s a chance players may never know who the leaker was and if it was indeed Ekuegan, but it’s possible that Bungie will be more careful with future Destiny 2 events.

Destiny 2 Season of the Deep: start date and time

The most important piece of information we can give you about the deep season is when it happens. As always, we’re going straight from Season 20 to Season 21, so you don’t have to worry about 24-hour downtime or anything like that.

The deep season begins on Tuesday, May 23. This is the same day that the challenge season ends, so until then you need to finish any seasonal challenges. The new season will start right at the weekly reset, so you can expect to jump in at the usual weekly reset time.

As a reminder, it’s 6pm GMT / 10am PDT / 1pm EST.

Destiny 2 Season of the Deep: New content

As always, a new season means new seasonal content. Season of the Deep will have its own seasonal quest, which will expand each week with the unveiling of the story. This is likely related to Seasonal Battlegrounds, a new game mode linked to the seasonal story.

A new mission has been confirmed early. In response to the backlash players have faced against the lack of answers to questions raised before and during Lightfall, Bungie has revealed important details in Season of the Deep. This quest will take us back to Neumona and will apparently reveal the true nature of the Veil.

This quest will also give players a third aspect to their Strand subclasses. We don’t know yet what they’ll do, but they’re called Threaded Storm (Hunter), Flechette Storm (Titan), and Wanderer (Warlock). This mission will also award players with a new Legendary Hand Cannon.

More generally, Bungie has also confirmed that a new dungeon is coming during Deep Season. We’ve heard some rumors and some leaks about said dungeon, which seems to confirm the belief many players have about Season of the Deep.

In Bungie’s April 14, TWAB, the developers explained that updates are coming for the Trials of Osiris passage, and the requirements for a flawless victory.

Something that likely won’t come, at least according to the leaks, is a Destiny 2 power level fix  , as highlighted in the tweet below.

Remember the Voice Ornament Society for Arpaliste? Bungie has confirmed that it will arrive as part of Destiny 2 Season 21.

Make sure to grab your Destiny 2 Vexcalibur ex-otic glaive while it’s still available.

New weapons

It appears that a new weapon from Osiris’ experiments arrives in the form of a glaive as well – the Unexpected Resurgence.

This is based on leaked information, but it looks like it will be the Arc Adaptive Glaive. You can find it, along with its merits, here (courtesy of D2Leaks).

We’re also expecting a variety of weapons, with a new asset trait called Ritual of Restoration. This will reload the weapon and set up an Emergency Reload when you run out of ammo when guardians revive enemies or use finishers.

Sloane may be making a comeback  – we focused on the Vex as part of Lightfall and saw the return of old enemy Asher Mir, now integrated with the Vex network. Now, I suspect Sloane will likely appear again, the old Titan salesman who was last seen going full Doom Slayer in the Hive there, choosing to stay behind rather than evacuate. This has not been confirmed but seems to be a very reasonable guess. We will either find her still alive and fighting, or we will find her dead body.

Taken / Hive Focus  – You probably remember the first time you heard “The Deep” in Destiny during the famous Whisper of the Worm quest. This was the cell god Xol talking to us at the time, and that mission was full of mission. So it makes sense that we might see a lot of Taken, along with the old foe that was on Titan, The Hive. What I don’t know is exactly how they will change the space. Too many pests? I think we’ll see.

The Veil Quest – In response to complaints about Lightfall’s The Veil being a bit vague, Bungie has revealed that an upcoming mission is to explain more about The Veil through Osiris research and Ishtar Collective data.

We know that this mission will reward us with not only information, but a “missing” grenade that appeared in promotional art for Lightfall but not in the expansion itself. It’s legendary. I think there was also a breaching bomber in the artwork, but we haven’t heard anything about that.

Also, there will be a bonus that is a new aspect for each class so we have more than two for each class. Giants get Flechette Storm, Hunters get Threaded Specter, and Warlock gets The Wanderer. To me, this sounds like something with Unraveling Rounds for Titan. Something related in the Threaded Spike melee or maybe just a Super Hunter for Threaded Spectre.

Big Capacity and Weird Changes Unless you dive into the leaks, we’re so far shedding a bit of detail here, outside of some recently announced Strand buffs that help Hunter specifically. Next week should be a very capable blog detailing the changes. We’ll also get a new round of quirky aficionados, and we’ll likely associate some of them in subcategory 3.0 keywords, more than we’ve already seen. Bungie said they will continue to do so in the future.

New Dungeon – It’s on schedule. We don’t have any in-game clues about that from what I can see, and those clues are usually kept in the strictest confidence until closer to release. It’s unclear if it’s set on Titan or somewhere else. But the last two dungeons have already been tied into the seasonal story. Even if they’re their own standalone locations.

Destiny 2 Season 21 story leaks and rumors

The title, “Season of Depth,” is a great clue as to where we’re headed during this season. While this has not been confirmed by Bungie, it seems clear that Destiny 2 Season 21 will focus on Titan. There have been multiple clues about Saturn’s moon, such as the name of the season. With direct mention during the Vexcalibur ex-otic mission.

In confirmation of this, recent leaks about the new dungeon indicate that it will take place on Titan. At this point, it would be very surprising if Season of the Deep didn’t bring Titan back into the game.
