Bungo Stray Dogs (Japanese: 文豪ストレイドッグス, Hepburn: Bungō Sutorei Doggusu, lit. “Literary Stray Dogs”) is a Japanese manga series written by Kafka Asagiri and illustrated by Sango Harukawa. Which has been serialized in Kadokawa Shoten’s seinen manga magazine Young Ace since 2012. However, The series follows the members of the “Armed Detective Agency” as they try to protect Yokohama from the mafia. The show mainly focuses on the weretiger Atsushi Nakajima, who joins others gifted with supernatural powers to accomplish different tasks including running a business, solving mysteries, and carrying out missions assigned by the agency.

Synopsis
For weeks, Atsushi Nakajima’s orphanage has been plagued by a mystical tiger. That only he seems to be unaware of. Suspected to be behind the strange incidents. The 18-year-old abruptly kicked out of the orphanage and left hungry, homeless, and wandering through the city.
While starving on a riverbank, Atsushi saves a rather eccentric man named Osamu Dazai from drowning. Whimsical suicide enthusiast and supernatural detective, Dazai has been investigating the same tiger that has been terrorizing the boy. Together with Dazai’s partner Doppo Kunikida, they solve the mystery, but its resolution leaves Atsushi in a tight spot. As various odd events take place, Atsushi coerced into joining their firm of supernatural investigators. However, Taking on unusual cases the police cannot handle, alongside his numerous enigmatic co-workers.

Nakajima Atsushi was kicked out of his orphanage, and now he has no place to go and no food. While he is standing by a river, on the brink of starvation, he rescues a man who whimsically attempting suicide. That man is Dazai Osamu, and he and his partner Kunikida are members of a very special detective agency. They have supernatural powers and deal with cases that are too dangerous for the police or the military. They’re tracking down a tiger that has appeared in the area recently, around the time Atsushi came to the area. The tiger seems to have a connection to Atsushi, and by the time the case is solved. However, it is clear that Atsushi’s future will involve much more of Dazai and the rest of the detectives!
However, A manga based on the light novel Beast, which illustrated by Shiwasu Hoshikawa debuted in Monthly Shōnen Ace on 26 December 2019. This spin-off manga features Ryūnosuke Akutagawa, who joins the Armed Detective Agency, and Atsushi Nakajima as a subordinate of the Port Mafia.
Moreover, A spin-off manga centered around Dazai and Chuya’s backstories titled, Bungo Stray Dogs: Dazai, Chūya, Jūgosai, began serialization in Monthly Shōnen Ace in July 2022.
