Nijika finds her band name on a flyer – at Bocchi and Kita’s school. Kita is happy to see their band name spread at school, but Ryo says they should stay hesitant to avoid the pressure. The girls visit different festival attractions, and Bocchi can’t help but have fun with her friends. They go to a cafe. Nijika reacts to Bocchi’s decision to man the front door. Ryo informs Nijika that Bocchi has passed away and is not acting confident in the slightest.

An anime television series adaptation was announced on February 18, 2021. It is produced by CloverWorks and directed by Keiichirō Saitō, with Yūsuke Yamamoto serving as assistant director, Erika Yoshida writing the series’ scripts, Kerorira designing the characters, and Tomoki Kikuya who composes the music. The series premiered on October 9, 2022, on Tokyo MX and other networks. Kessoku Band performed the opening theme “Seishun Complex” (青春コンムッックス), as well as the ending theme “Distortion!!”. Crunchyroll licensed the series outside of Asia. Plus Media Networks Asia licensed the series in Southeast Asia and is releasing it on Aniplus Asia and Bilibili.
