The Banana Republic credit card program is transitioning to Barclays, with the Visa Signature® Credit Card being converted to the Banana Republic Rewards Mastercard® and the Banana Republic Rewards World Mastercard®. The Banana Republic Rewards Credit Card name will remain the same, and customers will still be able to shop across all four brands of Gap Inc. with the benefits of One Membership.

How to Activate the Banana Republic Credit Card
If your Gap Inc. credit card account was opened on or before May 7, 2022, you can call 866-450-2330 or 866-450-2335 (for Icon Cardmembers) or activate online by visiting https://bananarepublic.syf.com/activate. If your account was opened on or after May 8, 2022, please call the number on the back of your card or activate online at the same link. To activate, follow these steps:
- Enter the 16-digit credit card number
- Enter the 3-digit security code on the back of the card
- Enter the last 4 digits of your Social Security number
- Click the “Activate My Card” button
Banana Republic Rewards Mastercard
Starting mid-June, customers will receive their new Banana Republic Rewards Mastercard in the mail. The card has a new look but the same great benefits, including no annual fee. Payments made in June should follow the instructions in the “Making Payments” section.
Making Payments
- Before June 16, continue to make payments as usual.
- Beginning June 16, online access to the credit card account through Synchrony will no longer be available.
- Scheduled online or phone payments made after June 16 will be canceled.
- To make an online payment, do so before 11:59 PM ET on June 15.
- To make a phone payment, do so before 11:59 PM ET on June 15.
- Activate the new card starting June 20 after 6 AM ET and destroy the old Synchrony card as it will no longer be valid.
- Visit bananarepublic.barclaysus.com to manage your account and enroll in paperless statements.
- Notify any merchants that automatically bill your account, such as utilities or insurance providers, of your new account information and update any online merchant accounts or digital wallets that store your credit card information.
