Anna Bosma Accident: How Did It Happen?
On the evening of Friday, September 1st, 2023, a tragic incident unfolded at the intersection of 62nd and Dodge Streets in Omaha. The Omaha Police received a distress call at 10:29 p.m. reporting a multi-vehicle accident. When they arrived at the scene, the Omaha Fire Department sadly confirmed the loss of Anna Bosma, a 22-year-old from Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
The initial investigation, along with witness accounts, revealed that a black 2019 Mercedes driven by Mark Carlson (61) and a separate black 2014 Buick Encore operated by Cameron Robinson (26) were both speeding westward on Dodge Street. Tragically, the Mercedes driven by Carlson lost control, crossed into the eastbound lanes, and collided with a red 2015 Chevrolet Cruze driven by Bosma. William Story (23, Sioux Falls, South Dakota), a passenger in the Cruze, was transported to UNMC by the Omaha Fire Department.
The accident led to the closure of Dodge Street in both directions until 5:45 a.m. At present, the investigation is ongoing, and charges are pending as authorities work to understand the full details of this heartbreaking incident.
