We review the Apple TV + Spirited movie, which contains no spoilers.

Written and directed Sean Anders (known b Terrible Bosses 2 And the Instant family), Lusty It is another adaptation of the famous Charles Dickens story Christmas carol. However, in this version, the Scrooges’ redemption of Earth through the power of ghostly apparitions on Christmas Eve is an entire project run by the world’s Departed, who also love to burst into song. The feature had a limited theatrical release before it dropped + Apple TV streaming platform.

Will FerrellFirst Christmas movie since dwarf It begins by introducing the ghosts and their operations after retrieving “Karen”, who just so happens to be named Karen (Rose Byrne). Now a better person, the lady drops petty police complaints about her neighbors and joins a group of children for a game of Christmas morning ball. We’re introduced to the cast of Ghosts of Christmas: Present (Will Farrell), Past (Sunita Mani), and has not yet come (Lauren J Woods). The present has been in the job for over 200 years, and while he is eligible to retire and return to the land of the living, he keeps putting it off because he seems to like making up for awful people. And the new “offence” is as horrifying as it gets. So terrible that it was classified as “non-refundable”. played before Ryan ReynoldsClint runs a company that specializes in creating online scandals. One of his endeavors involved creating a Twitter rift between people who use real Christmas trees versus those who prefer the plastic variety.

Determined to redeem the Incorrigible, the Present and its ghost team spend an entire year preparing for the perfect “hunt” to help Clint see the error of his ways. However, on Christmas Eve, things don’t exactly go as planned. Not only does Clint not like the whole ghost thing, but he also manages to seduce an overzealous past, leaving it to the present to deliver a good enough haunt that makes Clint a good person. The only problem is that Clint has absolutely no interest in being compensated. To further complicate matters, the present seems to have developed a crush on Kimberly (played by the brilliant Octavia Spencer), Clint’s business partner and generally a good person who hates her terrible job.

While I’ve never been a huge fan of Will Ferrell’s brand of comedy, I found this title completely charming. It’s a fun concept with a bit clumsy execution, but it’s still worth a look. The musical numbers are a bit fancy, but the songs love it Good afternoon And the Do a little good really stand out. And I’d be surprised if they didn’t get access to a few people’s Christmas playlists. The film even offers a touch that gives a friendly nod to the source material. and a cameo by The Only Lady Judi Dench It just adds to the charm.

While some parts of the narrative don’t make much sense, this isn’t the kind of movie where little things like continuity and logic matter. It’s a silly musical with a silly story that Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds fans are likely to love. Inclusive, Lusty is a welcome addition to the Christmas movie genre.
