We’re discussing the ending of the Disney+ movie Disenchanted, which will contain spoilers. When will Morgan embrace Giselle as her mother? Let’s find out.
Set nearly a decade after the timeline of fascinatedhypothesis Frustrating It’s Giselle and Robert, their new baby, and Morgan is moving to the suburbs. Everyone has a hard time adjusting to their new life. Giselle does not receive a warm welcome from the local PTA mothers, led by Malvina (Maya Rudolph) in Monroeville. Robert feels dissatisfied with his life as a corporate lawyer. Morgan is upset, mostly because she left all her friends and feels like an outsider – even like Giselle when she first left Andalusia. The difference between both of them is their outlook.
Morgan loudly tells Giselle that she is not her mother. In fact, every time she calls Gisele her “stepmother,” a little piece of our heroine’s sunny personality seems to fade away. Remember, the term stepmother was not common in fairy tales. Giselle wants to make Monroeville a magical place, just like Andalusia. Of course, this leads to unintended consequences, like Malvina becoming something out of Maleficent, our beloved sunny redhead becoming an evil stepmother. Morgan is now a maid, and her father seeks to win the status of manhood. This meant wearing tights, carrying a sword, and heroic bravery.
This leads to a diva confrontation between new “villain” Giselle and Malvina. The fight comes to a head as Giselle must choose between Morgan, who is being crushed by some vines, or saving Andalusia. This brings her out of her evil trance. Then we see many of our beloved characters in the land of 2D animation as they realize their fate. Giselle then tells Morgan that the magic is almost over, and she has to make a wish. While this is going on, her father and her boyfriend “gallantly” stop the clock from midnight. Before Malvina can turn back the clock again, she makes a wish and saves not only Andalusia but her family as well.
They wake up the next day, and Giselle explains to Morgan that everyone thought what happened was just a dream. Monroeville is back and is no longer seen through a fairytale lens, and Andalasia is saved. More importantly, when will Morgan embrace Giselle as her mother? She finally does, as Morgan finally calls Giselle “Mom” for the first time in the kitchen that morning.
He explained the frustrating ending
Frustrating It flips its premise by placing Giselle in a fantasy story as an evil character instead of a good one. Most importantly, this gives Morgan a chance to play up Giselle a little bit from the first movie, being a wide-eyed girl who is mistreated in the new land. This all leads to the movie’s underlying theme of mothers and daughters. The message of the movie, and what the movie is really about, is that you don’t have to be blood related in order to be family or parental.
This topic is addressed in the film, where the magic wand is supposed to be used only by blood relatives of Giselle. However, Morgan can use it as she finally not only accepts, but embraces Giselle as her mother.
