The countdown is almost over! AdHoc Studios’ surprise hit, the episodic superhero workplace comedy Dispatch, is set to conclude its first season with the release of the highly-anticipated Episodes 7 and 8 this week. The final double-drop promises an epic conclusion that will test Robert Robertson’s Z-Team like never before, especially after the cliffhangers of the last release.

With the finale trailer recently released, fans are scrambling to prepare for the final curtain, all while the massive success of the game prompts the developers to “at least think about” a second season.

The final two episodes, titled “Retrospective” and “Synergy,” are set to go live on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, for both PlayStation 5 (PS5) and PC (via Steam).

Developer AdHoc Studios, founded by former Telltale Games developers, has maintained a consistent weekly schedule since the game launched in October. This week’s synchronized global rollout will complete the full eight-episode season.

What to Expect: Retrospective and Synergy

Episodes 7 and 8 are expected to be a major, climactic conclusion that ties up the core narrative threads of the season.

The trailer and episode titles hint at the stakes:

  • The Hunt for Shroud: The main antagonist, Shroud, is finally being tracked and confronted. Especially after the devastating events of Episode 6. A key plot point is the loss of the Astral Pulse, which means Robert Robertson (voiced by Aaron Paul) must navigate the final chapters without his Mecha Man suit.
  • Character Showdowns: The finale is set to conclude the personal subplots for key characters, most notably Invisigal and Blonde Blazer. Community theories are running wild on how previous player choices—including romance options. Team cuts (Sonar/Coupé), and the Phenomaman/Waterboy decision—will pay off in these heavy-hitting scenes.
  • Thematic Wrap-Up: The titles “Retrospective” and “Synergy” suggest a final focus on reflection. Team cohesion, and the Z-Team finally working together effectively to overcome the ultimate threat.

The gripping story, stellar cast (including Aaron Paul and Laura Bailey), and choice-driven gameplay have kept players hooked, pushing the game to an all-time peak of 131,074 concurrent players last week and maintaining an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam.

Fans Clamor For a Second Season

While Dispatch is a complete eight-episode narrative, the use of the term “season finale” by AdHoc Studios has fueled massive fan campaigns for a second installment.

The clamor is far from unfounded. The game has been a phenomenal success, selling over one million copies in its first 10 days. This overwhelmingly positive reception has officially put a sequel on the table.

AdHoc Studios co-founder Pierre Shorette recently confirmed that the team will “have to at least think about Season 2 now” in light of the game’s performance, admitting it was only a “question mark” a few weeks ago.

For now, the focus is on the epic showdown this week, but with the game’s critical and commercial success, the possibility of Robert Robertson and his misfit team returning for more superhero workplace chaos is looking more and more likely.

Dispatch is now available on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, with its final episodes 7 and 8 releasing on November 12.
