Harry Potter lovers are counting down the days until the rebooted TV series ends, with filming underway right now.
It’s too early for any teasers or trailers to release footage being acquired, but we’ll surely have a sneak peek or two early next year, and in the meantime, there are still a few casting announcements to wait for, the biggest being who will play Harry’s antagonist Voldemort.
While we wait, there’s some exciting news Harry Potter release on the way, coming next month from Audible.
For those who like an audiobook about the first Harry Potter story, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stonewill be read and introduced by some of the cast of the upcoming TV reboot.
You can watch an excerpt of the new audiobook online now, and so far it looks like the new cast have a handle on these characters.
The full audiobook will be released on November 4, only about a week from now, and will likely be followed by additional adaptations of subsequent stories.
Warner Bros.
THE Harry Potter The first season of the reboot will also focus exclusively on the events of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stoneeach subsequent season focusing on one of the books. This means that each story will hopefully have more time to flourish than the limited length of films allowed, and based on some behind-the-scenes shots, that certainly seems to be the case.
This also means that the players involved are in it for the long haul, unless we get some surprise recasts along the way. Let’s hope not, but the same thing happened to the leader of The Witcher TV Series on Netflix, Stranger Things Have Happened.
The Boy Who Lived is going to be canceled…
Of course, there’s no guarantee the series will survive all Harry Potter stories. Audiences will need to be closely monitored and a big factor is that Warner Bros is considering bids for its own acquisition.
We talked about how this acquisition could affect Warner Bros-produced games like Hogwarts Legacy 2 but it could certainly affect shows accessible through HBO. Netflix, for example, is rumored to be eyeing the company, meaning the new Harry Potter series could find a new home depending on how the proceedings go.
It’s a little too early to tell, but it remains a possibility and one that could either be a saving grace for the series or its untimely demise.
