It premiered on TVN on 25 September 2023 and is broadcast every Monday and Tuesday at 20:50 (KST). It is also available to stream on Viki and Viu in select regions.

Twinkling Watermelon tells the story of a CODA boy with a natural talent for music, who time travels to 1995 and joins a band with his father from his childhood and forms a band called Watermelon Sugar with the suspicious young people he meets there and connects with them through music.
High school student Eun Gyul (Ryu On) is hard of hearing but has a talent for music. He is a model student by day and plays guitar in a band by night. One day, he visits a mysterious musical instrument store and travels to a strange place. There, Eun-gyul meets Lee Chan (Choi Hyun-wook), Choi Si-kyung (Seoul In-A), and Yoon Chung-ah (Shin Eun-soo). They formed a band called Watermelon Sugar. Meanwhile, Lee Chan has a crush on Choi Si Kyung, known as the Cello Goddess at Siwon Arts High School, and tries to win her heart. Yoon Chung-A suffers from hearing loss. She is cold and aloof from others.

She is the daughter of the owner of Viva Music, which existed during Eun-gyeol’s childhood. She now inherits the former Viva Music premise and keeps her father’s handmade guitar which she gave to Eun-gyeol.

- Seo Young-hee as 46-year-old Yoon Cheong-ah: A cold and arrogant person who was born deaf. She dreams of a radiant, vibrant Frida Kahlo. She is now the mother of both Eun-gyeol and Eun-ho and owns a chicken restaurant. In contrast to her teenage self, she becomes an intelligent and lovable wife and mother despite her disability.
