Dale Jonathan Winton (22 May 1955 – 18 April 2018) was an English DJ and television presenter. He presented the Dale’s Supermarket Sweep shows from 1993 until 2001 and again in 2007, the National Lottery game show In It to Win It between 2002 and 2016 and the 2008 Hole in the Wall series. Winton also presented the Pet Win Awards ( 1995- 1996) and the other half (1997-2002).

Winton was born on May 22, 1955, to a Jewish father, Gary Winton, and actress Sherri Winton. Who converted to Judaism. Winton’s father died on his birthday so he was raised by his mother. Winton’s mother died by suicide in 1976 while suffering from depression.

His big break came with the ITV daytime show Supermarket Sweep, which he hosted from 1993 to 2001 and again when it was rebooted in 2007.

At the time of his death he was appearing on Channel 5 on Dale Winton’s Florida Fly Drive program.

Scotland Yard previously said the star’s death was being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.

News of his death sparked a wealth of tributes from fellow celebrities, former bandmates and members of the public.
