who won the chiefs game tonight who won the kansas city last night

Kansas City, Mo. Patrick Mahomes may have been flashing back Sunday nights to his days at Texas Tech, when he was dashing like a kid playing soccer in the sand while routinely tossing the ball more than 60 times in a game.

The Chiefs needed all of that—every run, every throw, every yard—to beat the Tennessee Titans.

Mahomes finished 43 of 68 for 446 yards and touchdowns, ran for the equalizing score and a two-point conversion late in the fourth quarter, before Harrison Boetker made amends for two previous defeats by digging a green-light goal in overtime and lifting. The Chiefs to the 20-17 victory.

“I didn’t know I threw that many, but yeah, Texas Tech, I threw a couple, so I’m able to do it,” Mahomes said with a smile.

Heads coach Andy Reed improved to 21-3 after beating the franchise that had always been his opponent. It was only 2-9 against the Titans – well, Reid had three wins against The Chiefs – including a 27-3 loss in Nashville last year.

This was only Kansas City’s second win (6-2) in its last seven games against the Titans.

The Giants entered Sunday night’s game in Kansas City as the underdogs, but they didn’t play like the underdogs.

Their defense kept Patrick Mahomes on his toes all night through constant pressure and covering a wide range of receivers. But in the end, that wasn’t enough. The Chiefs tied the match late in the final quarter, advanced in overtime, and then got the stoppage they needed for a comeback win.

Mahomes threw 68 passes, two shy of the NFL record, and finished with 446 yards in a 20-17 win. He made a big impact with his legs, running for game-related touchdowns and a two-point conversion.

After The Chiefs won the toss lottery in overtime, the Giants nearly stopped them, only for Noah Gray to do something cool in third place. Next, Mahomes hit JuJu Smith-Schuster for fourth down to keep the leadership alive — and the clock is moving.

Poetker hit a 28-yard pass to give Kansas City the lead with 4:04 remaining in overtime.

The Chiefs proceeded to stuff Henry, then sack the Titans’ rookie owner Willis in back-to-back play, before pressing his fourth throw down to finish the game and send fireworks soaring into the sky over Arrowhead Stadium.
