Explanation of Diablo 4 error code 315306
Error code 315306 occurs when Diablo 4 cannot find a valid license for the user who is currently playing the game.
However, upon launch, this error code appears even for those who have purchased the game, preventing them from playing.
The problem seems to mainly affect PlayStation users in North America, but we know that error code 315306 has also appeared in other countries, and on Xbox consoles as well.
The official Diablo Twitter account confirmed that Blizzard is aware of the issue on PlayStation, and is “looking into this right now” for PlayStation users, but there has been no mention of a fix for the issue on Xbox yet. That doesn’t mean it hasn’t been looked at, we don’t have any official confirmation as of the time of writing.
Eurogamer has reached out to Blizzard for more details, but we haven’t received a response yet.

Could not find a valid license for Diablo 4 Possible solution
While Blizzard is working on the error code 315306 issue, there is a workaround you can do to force your console to validate your Diablo 4 license.
On PlayStation, to fix the ‘Couldn’t find a valid license’ error in Diablo 4, you can buy a free game or add a free PlayStation Plus game to your library . We can confirm that adding a PS Plus game to the library worked, but again, this is no guarantee that it will solve the problem for you. Still, it’s worth a try!
You can search for free games using filters in the PlayStation Store, or you can quickly search for one of these free games if you like:

We were unable to confirm whether purchasing a free game on Xbox consoles resolved the “Cannot find a valid license” issue. Edit: I’m finally in! I tried to get my license back as others have mentioned, but it kept failing halfway through. I suspect it’s because so many others are trying to do the same thing, lol.
Then I restarted the PS5 one last time, turned on the D4, and after sitting in a queue for about a minute, saw the best screen I’ve ever seen: an HDR calibration screen, haha.
So if anyone is having problems at 7pm and giving up, give them another chance!
Edit 2: I was reminded to add this to my post. If anyone is still having issues, and you can’t manually restore your licenses, try adding a new game to your account via the PS Store. Any free-to-play game will do. I believe this automatically updates/restores your licenses, and there are plenty of reports of this working.
How to fix Diablo IV could not find a valid license error
- Exit the game.
- See the Battle.net logo in the upper left corner.
- Select “Restart and Update”.
- Log in again.
The development team had some hiccups on launch night. After the team revealed their favorite builds. It became clear that some accounts were mistakenly disconnected from the game.
There was a brief announcement from Blizzard that the development team was aware of the issue and was looking forward to fixing it. This message is now no longer displayed on the front page of Battle.net as the bug has been fixed. To get this fix, update the launcher from the icon on the top left.
The code is likely caused by server traffic. The servers will allow players to play. But cannot check every player at all times while they are logged in, explaining why this happens in the middle of a game session. Regardless of the cause, this latest update seems to have fixed the issue.
After installing it, players should be able to collect all crafting materials and level up. There is a lot to explore and do in the game, and we hope that technical issues moving forward will be kept to a minimum.
