Watch out, Zelda: The Kingdom’s Tears spill out into the wilderness
In 11 very long days, we’ll finally get our hands on The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the highly anticipated sequel to Switch’s 2017 launch title, Breath of the Wild. Unfortunately, some people can’t wait until then, and leaks are starting to appear online.
Over the weekend, images of the Kingdom Tears Special Edition were shared online, and since then many have been anticipating leaks of the game sooner rather than later. This prophecy has finally been fulfilled.
The GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit shared a few screenshots and a short ten-second clip of the upcoming game, taken from a private Discord server and shared on the forums and Imgur. We won’t include screenshots or screenshots here, but you can head over to the subreddit by following this link if you want to check it out.
As a reminder, we won’t be posting any of the leaks here on Nintendo Life — we don’t want to spoil the experience for anyone, because we’ve all been waiting a long time to get this follow-up. Now is the time to ditch social media, mute everything Zelda-related, and stay out there for a little while longer.

The long-awaited BOTW sequel The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is only two weeks away. With the title about to be released, the Zelda ROM files are already out in the wild. Just yesterday, a physical copy of the game TOTK was leaked and screenshots of the game appeared online. Now ROM files are also available.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of Kingdoms ROM is now available online, as well as for download via bootleg websites. It also means that the full video of the run will be available online soon, which means there’s likely to be a spoiler.
The Legend of Zelda: TOTK will be released in two weeks, so the ROM will be released earlier. With it, you can play and simulate titles on your PC. While this means you can play the game right now, we are not promoting it. Downloading ROMs and games from hacking websites is basically illegal. And it shouldn’t be done because game studios spend millions of dollars on their development. Therefore, we will not add the download link here either.
It’s currently on a Reddit thread, but it won’t be long before a ROM leaks. We will update this post when it leaks.
The sequel will be released 6 years after Breath of the Wild. It is also undoubtedly one of the most beloved titles for Nintendo fans this year. The game was released amid doubts about whether the current generation of Switch has powerful enough hardware to perform well. But that will be revealed at the official launch on May 12th. However, as mentioned earlier, we do not support downloading ROM files.
