About VIT
VIT stands for Vellore Institute of Technology, a private university known for its engineering programs.
VIT has four campuses in India, namely in Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal and Amaravati. To enter one of the VIT campuses, prospective students must take an entrance exam called the VITEEE (VIT Engineering Entrance Examination).
The exam will be conducted online from 17 to 23 April 2023.
What is VITEEE?
VITEEE is a multiple choice exam consisting of 125 questions covering four areas, namely Mathematics or Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and English.
Each question is worth one point and no points are deducted for wrong answers. VITEEE results were announced on April 26, 2023 through the official VIT website, namely viteee.vit.ac.in.
Prospective students can check their scores by entering the application number, password, and verification code.
However, soon after the results were announced, there were several accusations that the VIT rankings were fraudulent.

Some prospective students complain that they get very low grades even though they feel they have answered many questions correctly.
They also alleged that VIT did not provide answer keys or raw scores for their exams. They suspect that VIT deliberately manipulated the rankings to take advantage of prospective students who were willing to pay high fees to enter VIT campuses.
One example of this accusation is a tweet by Parv Aggarwal, who said that he received a rating of 107xx even though he felt he had answered 75% of the questions correctly. He also included a video showing evidence that VIT’s ratings are unfair.
The video is entitled “VIT 2020 Unfair Ranking with Complete Proof” and was uploaded by Ritik Meghwani on April 25, 2023.
In the video, Ritik Meghwani claims that he got a rating of 65k even though he felt he had answered 90% of the questions correctly. He also pointed out several examples of other prospective students who received grades that did not meet their expectations.
