We recap the Netflix series 1899, Season 1, Episode 7, “The Tempest,” which contains spoilers.
Maura (Emily Beecham) It is mentioned throughout the series that he has lost or altered memories, and blames her father for this injustice. in “The Tempest,” Maura finally gets to see what all the fuss is about Daniel Unlocks a bunch of these stolen memories. The penultimate installment is set against the backdrop of a deadly storm as all the puzzle pieces finally fall into place. It’s our Armageddon Kerberos Passengers, because the end is in sight for these troubled souls. Can they crack the code and save themselves from a painful end?
1899 Season 1, Episode 7 Recap
The episode opens from Daniel’s perspective. He’s in bed with Maura. Daniel mentions that they have been married for twelve years, and this flashback highlights just how deep the love between the pair was. They discuss reality and simulation before Maura storms out of the room. This is clearly a modern place, and suddenly a siren sounds, in a robotic voice announcing the start of closing. Daniel exits the apartment and into the deserted scene we all know. A glitch in the sky, the building in the distance and the pyramid behind. Maura disappeared. Is this how the whole simulation started?
Daniel wakes up from this dream from within Room 1011 From the mental hospital. He begs to be set free, but Maura leaves him locked in this room. Planning his escape, Daniel peels back the wall of the structure and finds a maze of wires hidden behind it. He crawls through these corridors and enters many different simulations that act as visions for each specific character. There may be a desert landscape Ramiro And a clear snowy one Olek.
As the storm intensifies, the passengers panic without their captain or even first mate to guide them. tuff You fear that they will capsize in these waves the size of a mountain. Son She accepted her fate, and glad to go with God’s plan. Clemens And Ramiro decided to warn the guests in the engine room. They all leave in opposite directions, leaving poor people Mrs. Wilson on her single. She seems to be fine, and the black disease continues to spread. Mora searches for Ike and reaches the bridge. She doesn’t know how to help Mrs. Wilson, though she has never encountered this kind of mischief before. Many are looking for the captain, but the first mate is after the boy. He uncovers a hidden device and tracks down the prankster boy.
In the engine room, Tove and the gang come to warn the others. Franz He asks Olek to take charge while closing the bulkheads, which will soon fill the ship with water if they remain open. Tov asks for help. While Olek and Ling return to the bridge to steer the ship through this storm. Franz tells the others to keep the engines running on fuel.
Mora takes the tiled column Room 1013Where Daniel was staying. This portal takes her to the apartment in the opening scene of this chapter. She walks into the modern apartment and finds pictures of her with Daniel and the boy. A peek at the bed triggers memories from her past. It appears that the mysterious boy is actually her son. This is confirmed in the next scene where Daniel finds the boy in his hiding place. They embrace and Daniel talks to his son. They initiate the lockdown procedure. Maura still can’t remember anything, but they need to get her out so she can finish the episode once and for all. Daniel tries to comfort his son before he goes on to search for his wife.
Daniel finds Maura in the bedroom of the apartment. She is dumbfounded by the picture. He tells her that their son is called Elliot. Maura believes that she cannot have children, but this was just a false memory implanted in her head. Daniel wants her to remember the past and they kiss, but only the tiniest details come back. He explains that she is stuck in a simulation and needs to wake up. They need to get out before the simulation restarts again, trapping her consciousness inside. Another whistle comes to life. There are only twenty minutes left.
1899 Season 1, Episode 7 ends
Maura and Daniel return to the ship. He tells her there is code to bypass the shutdown, and asks if she knows what it is, it might be an object of some sort. She opens her locket and finds a key inside. Daniel uses his device to try to save them from this loop, and he talks about this last run that goes into the archive when the system is rebooted. The archived ships must be the ship graveyard Eck just witnessed. Daniel works on his technical skill, adding that the simulation runs for eight days before repeating and restarting again. This trip has happened dozens of times before.
With the system shut down, passengers undergo one last test. ling She sees her dead mother on deck and chases after her. Olek tries to save her, but is captured by a wave. Lucian He has a seizure and dies before they can administer another vial. son f Langerhans He prayed on the lower decks and drowned in the flood. Franz and Tove try to close all the doors, but Franz sacrifices himself to help Tove escape as well as drown. angel Trapped under an iron beam, he also dies.
Henry Watch this massacre on screens. The first’s companion brings the boy and the pyramid to his office. He tells how they always make the same mistakes and always die. They put their emotions before logic. Henry talks about the PA system, telling Maura and Daniel that they have failed this time, too. He wants Maura’s key and Elliot will give them in return. Henry opens the pyramid device, exposing the keyhole inside.
The countdown reaches zero, and a vortex appears before Kerberos. It’s a poignant finale in which the ship is swallowed up by the sea, and taken in this deadly maelstrom. Ling watches this disaster unfold before her eyes. It’s the highlight of the entire series, and it’s a truly captivating cinematic moment. In the final scene, the ship reappears, joining the other failed ships with Ike and the Prometheus. Eck looks at the survivors as they emerge onto the deck, staring back at him. What will they do now?
